This physician's office policy for being late needs to be updated. My father waited 3 months to see this physician for the first-time. My mom and dad left Glendale at 8:20 am and my dad's appointment time was at 10:30am. An accident happened right in front of my parents on the freeway and caused heavy traffic. My mom was able to exit the freeway and call the physician's office to let them know they might be running late and the office told them the doctor can still see my dad if he is 20 minutes passed his appointment time.
My mom gets to the parking structure and there isn't any handicap parking and all the other parking spots are compact. My mom drives a minivan and she needs to park in a normal sized spot to transfer my dad safely onto his wheelchair. It took her an extra 15 minutes to find a parking spot. They were 40 minutes late to the appointment and were turned away. This is unacceptable. You need to listen to the situation, assess the situation in its entirety, and then make a decision based on the moral thing to do. The front office staff members could have offered my parents to wait and have the doctor fit my dad in with the rest of her patients. That would have been the right thing to do. I am very sad to know there are doctors that train the front desk staff to handle situations this way.

Dr. Petrossian is my neurologist at Pacific Neuroscience Institute. Through her practice, she directed me to her colleague to administer botox for palatal myoclonus.

If one has this rare movement disorder, she can diagnose and treat it.
