Two owners or managers of the Straight Street Life Center Inc. came to my automobile dealership looking to purchase a vehicle that I had listed for sale. I took a non refundable deposit which I disclosed in person as well as it being printed on the receipt given to the customer showing the deposit that they made via check for $300.00 to hold a $9,000.00 car which I had multiple offers on, for 7 days. The next day a couple of hours before the scheduled appointment to purchase the vehicle I received a text saying they were no longer interested in the car. I deposited the check with the mutual understanding that the deposit was non refundable. I received a notice from my bank on 9/23/2022 stating that a stop payment had been issued for the deposit. I would have thought a non profit organization dedicated to helping women would have a little more respect towards honest business practices. If this is how the owners/managers operate how exactly are they going to help women? Especially if they are relying on local small businesses to help accomplish their goal of helping women. This organization owes the deposit and whatever fees are associated with the returned check. If they do the right thing and resolve the issue with the despot and bad check I will remove this negative review.
